JOHNSTOWN & MARYVILLE APRIL 2019 UPDATE

Hopefully I remember how to embed this video.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

The Next Project

While I'm waiting for my recent hobby shop order to be filled and mailed, I thought I would start on the next project. Two things I always have on my layouts are a dog park and a trailer park.

I have seen HO Scale models of mobile homes but to me, they are way to bulky. I would much rather scratchbuild the ones that I need.

Progress....slow but steady

Have not done an update in a while as I have been busy working on a couple areas that just didn't work for me. I'll have a detailed video update on my YouTube page next week. But this is what I have been working on this weekend. Getting my engine service area ready for the installation of fuel and sanding towers along with fuel pumps and other assorted materials found around a shortline service area.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions on what you see, please feel free to post them. Always helpful to have insight from others.

J&M comes into its own

I have been trying to decide which way to go with the J&M and its motive power. Do I leave them as they are, Milwaukee Road? Do i have them repainted as a shortline, such as Michigan Shore? Beautiful red and silver? Or do I make it its own shortline?

The Scrapyard is complete

Finished, 99.9% finished, my metal recycling scrapyard.

The scrapyard coming together

I have spent the weekend working on my metal recycling yard and its nearly done. I'll have a video posted in a day or so outlining the entire process but for now, here's a couple pictures. Welcome all thoughts and comments.

First Operations Test Report

Had my first real operations test today. I'll give it a B. Had a few minor issues crop up. Nothing serious and easy to fix. I decided, after going back and forth with myself over what system to use, I decided on Ship It. I have used it in the past with limited success so this week I really studied the manual until I had a good understanding of how to make it work so cars move on and off the layout the way they are supposed to.

February Update

I have uploaded my February update for the Johnstown and Maryville.

Johnstown takes shape

Finally got the track work done and trains running again. Now I have a rough draft of how Johnstown is going to fit into the corner. Overall I like the way it looks but obviously this is just an approximation.

I've been workin' on the railroad

After months of procrastination and several weeks of designing and rebuilding, I once again have a working railroad. It's been an exasperating time, even thinking about scrapping the whole thing and not having one any more. But patience and having people with a like interest to talk to, namely you guys, paid off. I was able to get out of the rut I was in and get back to doing. I'll post some pictures later, but for now, just a relief.
