The hobby and I lost a friend - Gary Gelzer of the GNC Railway
Model railroading has lost a friend and so have I. Gary Gelzer was well known to many OpSig folks for his attendance at operating weekends throughout the country, his articles in the Dispatcher's Office and his multiple versions of the Great Nothwetern Coastline Railway and Navigation Company (GNC).
Anniversary
(Cue background music)
Well, when I signed on today, I was informed that I'd been a member for 4 years and 20 hours!
Hopefully many more to come!

GLW Freight House
After the interest Kelly's Corner generated, I decided to blog the photo of the last structure that was evaluated for my NMRA Structures AP. When this structure was given a Merit Award, I had all six required merit Awards. Now I need to get 5 more structures finished and verified.
It is 97% scratch built. It has been installed on the PebbleCreek M R C layout in South Bend, although its photo not shown on the club's web site yet.
Kelly's Corner
Wanted to share my latest structure. Only 5 more to go for the NMRA AP Structures certificate.
This is a DPM kit building. It was assembled to model a saloon (probably with “upstairs rooms”) that has gone out of business. The building is empty and for rent. The building is closed and blinds drawn everywhere but the front street level windows, allowing interested folks to look in and see the emptiness. One shade (upper right front window) is even drawn crookedly.
Scratchbuilding - handlaying - track
I'm looking for some ideas, advice, etc. on hand laid - highly detailed - track work.
I have used and like the Fast Tracks turnout jigs in HOn3.
Now, I'm looking for something with more detail.
Ideas, suggestions, sources of material are all welcomed.
Scale is immaterial - the larger the better - aging eyes!
Thanks for you inputs,
Bruce
