A little scenery....
I needed to create a small scene for some photos I wanted to take. I decided that instead of wasting pink foam I decided to build a small scenery section that will eventually end up on the layout. I still will need to add a bunch of detail to the ground as it is pretty bare, but that will give me something to do this weekend.
Track work....issues
The SP&S road crews kept complaining about a section in the runaround track that was causing air hoses to come undone putting the train into emergency. The City of Prineville Roadmaster was called out to take a look at the section of traffic under load while the SP&S was in town. It was disocvered that the heavier locomotives that the SP&S were using was finding a small section where the sub bed was insuffecient. The track was taken out of service and the MOW department got to work to correct the area.
What to do what to do....
With the layout in test and debug mode I have been focusing on enhancing the look of my freight car fleet. I have posted a few images in the general discussion section of MRH. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/3659 but I thought I would post my latest freight car here:

Working on the railroad...
I set my Free-Mo in front of my backdrop and was playing around with some lighting. I still have lots of work to do on the Free-Mo section before I would call it done, but I think I am off to a good start.

Cars roll better on rail...
I had some time today and got most of the track in place on the layout. I would have got more done but I ran out of wire to run my feeders. I will be making a trip to the store on Monday to get some more wire so I can get things running. I will go ahead and attempt to hook up what I have to the bus and may try to get a couple of tortoises in place.
