Download links for MOB vol.2

Will the HDV download for  ALLAGASH RAILWAY - Scenery modeling outside the box, vol 2 be showing up tomorrow? I have seen links to bundle, and pre-order the physical DVD already.

And also just curious where the download links will appear? You have to do a bit of searching to find them for Vol.1.

Vol 1 purchasers get the 2-fer deal on vol 2?

Out of curiosity, if we purchased the first series when it came out is there a way to get the bundle price still?

Not really, no.

The idea is if you really want the video, you buy it now and get it now. If you're willing to forgo benefiting from the information, then wait and there may be cheaper deals later. But then you can't benefit from the information until later.

Much of what MRH does is free and we can't discount everything to everyone all the time. Model Trains Video is our parent company and when you buy a video you are helping fund the magazine too.

So think of it as your contribution to keeping MRH free and helping encourage us to produce more videos in the future.

No worries, can't hurt to ask

No worries, can't hurt to ask though.

Lots of playback problems with the DVD version.

I finally got around to opening up the DVD ive had since black Friday last year and with 5 DVD players here at home. None seem to play it without issues. My Samsung stand alone DVD player, nicest one I own plays about the first 5 chapters then consistently freezes up (on disc one). Same choppiness goes with my computers Windows media player and Realone player. I also decided just for kicks to see if the Sony Playstation 2 video game console would do the same thing, it wont even access the disc and gives an "unable to read disc" error.

It finally got so hard to watch I put the disc back in the case. Second thing I thought was maybe its the disc for some reason, so I tried disc 2 and the same thing happens. Makes it through several chapters just fine on the players that do work then consist freezing up for few seconds to at least 5 seconds.

I have almost all the Model-Trains-Video DVD's and they all have worked flawlessly no matter what player im using. This is the only one I have ever had a problem with. I like to have the physical copy of how-to DVD's like these but I think this is probably a case where I wish I would have gone with the download instead. Disappointing.

With all that said though. The chapters I was able to watch were fantastic and I enjoyed them very much. I agree with the sound problem but for me personally, I didnt have a problem hearing or understanding anything that was being said so in the end, that really didnt bother me much.

I hope the upcoming Weathering DVD does not have the same playback problems.

Thanks Joe.

Thanks for the offer Joe. I may take them up on it, however, I should update this thread though. We have an older DVD player that is one of those cheap DVD/VHS combo players that probably costs 20 dollars brand new at Best Buy now. Strangely enough, the videos play flawlessly in this cheap thing. I just may call and have them send out another one though.

Chris.

MP4 via thumb drive

Some of the newer DVD/Blu-Ray players can display MP4 videos loaded on a thumb drive.
