Rerailer

Do you use rerailers?

I've built a permanent one for my narrow gauge fiddle yard:

Neat idea for a fiddle yard

Neat idea for a fiddle yard where you are constantly handling cars. Looks like it belongs there. I don't use a fiddle yard, only online visible staging, and if I need to add some cars to the layout, I typically do it on a bridge where the guard rails assist in lining up the wheels with no fuss. If I went the fiddle yard way someday, will certainly keep your idea alive. Thanks for the info!

Wolfgang you did it again!!

Wolfgang you did it again!! That rerailer for HOn3 is great.

Setting cars on the main with HOn3 seems to be more of a pain to get the wheels on track than "N" gauge due to the wheels sets are farther inside the cars outer edges than Standard gauge wheel sets so they are more difficult to see.

I will use your Idea of starting with Standard Gauge tapered down to Narrow gauge for rerailing cars and may put them on a number of sidings where I think they will be needed.

for years I have used turn outs as rerailers and set the cars wheel sets over the frog and roll the car toward the single leed end but I like your little rerailer better.

I did take an HO standard Gauge Plastic Rerailer and cut a 7 inch long wedge out of the center and set a HOn3 gauge to the track end and reglued the center but it's not perfect due to a silght miss alignment but it works in a pinch.

Thanks for the video and Just keep thinking Wolfgang you have some good Ideas.

Thank you

Thank you, Dan.

Here's another idea, I've used this since decades. Already with my German layouts.

Removable loads

You see my new Blackstone gondola, I've weathered it and made two loads.

Congratulations

Hey Wolfgang,

Congratulations, you made the cover of Scale Rails.

rerailers

I use Atlas rerailer sections every 6 feet in my staging and fidle yards.
