Con-Cor International (www.con-cor.com) showed this preliminary engineering sample of its forthcoming HO scale Pierce Arrow Galloping Goose at the National Train Show in Milwaukee this summer. After several delays imposed by its contract manufacturer in China, Con-Cor says it is expecting delivery of both the HOn3 and HO scale models this month. The ready-to-run DC models will come with a 10-pin NMRA DCC connector on the PC board (a DCC decoder is not included).

Con-Cor is quoting fall delivery for both the HO and N scale versions of its Pioneer Zephyr 3-car train set. The ready-to-run models replicate the twin headlight version of the famous early streamliner that operated until 1960. The second headlight (an early version of an oscillating Mars light) was installed in the nose in the early 1940s following several accidents. Con-Cor’s DC model uses a flashing LED to simulate the oscillating light. Instructions are included that describe how to prepare the model for a DCC decoder (not included) including special programming to achieve realistic oscillation of the Mars light.

Here's a video of the HO scale pilot model in operation:
