Yes, this is legit

Yes, this is legit. Rather than share Lewis Phelps' email address with the entire world wide web (and he get spammed to death), we're standing up this form to allow contacting Lewis about his amazing new weighting method that he discusses in the September MRH editorial.

You can do Lew's new weighting method yourself (described in the editorial), but the cost will be 30% higher than what Lew is offering for one of his kits made with bulk materials. Buy the materials yourself: ~$7.20 per ounce. One of Lew's kits: ~$5 per ounce. These prices do not include postage.

Lew's method makes car weights that are near 200% the density of lead sheet + epoxy in the same space. It's almost 250% more dense than lead shot glued in place and it does not suffer from "lead rot."

Please note, this is not an inexpensive method for adding car weight. But for those tough-to-weight open top cars, this can be a life-saver to get the car heavy enough to run well without a load.

great article and idea. I'd like to get a kit when available. I'm on vacation for the next week so I may be slow responding.
