Windows 8 problems

A  lot of the problems relate to Win 8 being originally designed as  part of a computer/cell phone swapable system which just didn't work out so ended up being downgraded to 2 separate systems. I constantly hear of problems from friends about compatibility issues with all sorts of programs, server connections and document formats.

I fear the solution to some of these issues will have to wait til the next service pack. Until they try downloading on a different, non Win 8 system, then transferring the file to your Surface device. That is the current work around so should work for you.

(still running Server 3 64 Japan Corporate Edition. Obscure but works flawlessly. Why update when you can run everything from the newest to DOS without a hitch?)

Can't Download March

I have a new Galaxy III note pad and I cant get the March issue to load either.

Thank you

I got the March issue downloaded! Thank you for a great magazine, i look forward to issue!

Feb & March file extention issues

Joe/Charlie,

I understand what these guys are going through.  When I downloaded the March and Feb issues (I don't remember about January), the file extension was stripped off.  Simply renaming the file and adding the ".pdf" fixed it for me.  I am a techie so it was just an annoyance for me...

Vitals:

  • MacBook Pro
  • Mountain Lion
  • Google Chrome 25.0.1364.152

Thanks and good luck!

Extremely slow downloads

I am running Mac OSX Mountain Lion.  The downloads are painfully slow.  Are you guys using dial-up on your server? :)

Seems to be a timing issue

Sometimes the downloads are almost 2.0mb/sec other times 40kb/sec. Downloading at 2AM seems to help.
