When someone "REALLY" wants an SD40...

I'd really like another CR - SD40 for the roster, but I don't think I want one this much......

I hope its 24 carat, or brass at the very least!

I Miss My Trains: A Poem of Woe!

I Miss My Trains: A Poem of Woe!

Here I sit very down-hearted.
My retired life carefully charted.
Trains packed and now departed.
My estate agent is too light-hearted.
She needs quicker to get started.
My old place is empty and so distorted.

My layout plans are too long thwarted.
I long for the hour I too am transported.

In-ko-pah RR: The Roving Rooster

Over on another forum somebody came up with the idea of passing around a figurine, to be photographed on each person’s railroad.  A large rooster about five inches tall was chosen. (Why a rooster? It has something to do with one of the forum members whose nickname is “Rooster”.)

Anyway, a lot of the guys were having fun with it, creating humorous stories to go with the photos. When my turn came, I got inspired and came up with this series of “newspapers” documenting the rooster’s appearance on my layout.

The Invention of Frijolene

Here comes a story almost too amazing to be 'true'...the story of how Frijolene was discovered. I will be posting it in a following reply so the long tale doesn't 'wrap' at the top of each topic page. Enjoy!

Condo/Loft Layout: Progress/inaugural run

My continuing blog about building an 'affordable' small switching layout in the living room/dining room/kitchen, ie little real estate for a Model Railroad. ;)

Benchwork is sorted with foam core and cork roadbed, Fascia and everything painted to match and now some of the track work laid. I haven't purchased my DCC system yet, looking at the NCE PowerPro and my first DCC locomotive, the expense being directed to trackwork, mainly turnouts. But I had my first DC run. Here's a few pictures... not the best quality, but pictorial progress in action. :)
