Morning Fellow Modelers,
2010: MRR-related New Years Resolution(s)
For me, it's to get re-focused on my layout rebuilding effort.
My attention has been recently diverted by finding ~20 old B&O locos in my Mother-In-Law's crawl space that I stored there in 1999, when I was moving out of my previous house. Now I'm ready to change from modeling CSX and go back to modeling the B&O.
Reality vs. the imagination. . .
Have any of you ever visited a layout and were excited about the visit but when you got there you felt a little let down?
Don't you guys ever sleep?
It's 20 mnutes to 7AM and I signed and noticed that a number of you seem to have left messages on various topics at about 2:30 AM. Were you waiting up for the guy the red suit so you could share his milk and cookies or did you want to see if the two M & M s and the guy in the red suit were real? So what gives?
I have to go to a presentation at my grandson's school and while I am glad to go, the streets here haven't been cleaned that well and I am not really interested in driving in these conditions. I'd rather be working on my layout.
I had expected to go to the show today...
THere is an old saying that says "Man proposes and God disposes." It' s very applicable to me today as I had planned to get Brooklyn N-Traks show today. I had wanted to see the guys and the layout since I don't have any family obligations today that would have kept me home. So I guess God didn't like my plans because we woke up with a foot of snow on the ground here in Queens, NY. The streets have been plowed but all that did is to pile the snow up against the cars.
John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid in the Movies
I recently got a hold of a movie from Sunday River Productions that features John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid. It has been visually and sound remastered and purports to be the only movie ever made of the layout befor John Allen died and the layout burned down.
OK you got me!! Joe pays me!!
and to top that I'm getting a pay raise next year starting in January. You ask how does he pay me?
