Fri, 2019-04-12 00:38 — Marc

These two ship models are excellent start to be kitbashed.

The Meng model is a magnificient kit at a scale of 1/150 suitable for HO and course better to N scale.

The cargo is the old "Shell Welder" of FROG; find on eBay and reoffer by a russian plastic model firm.

The Meng model is offer in a beautiful box and the instruction are offered in a real small book.

Started a new channel for modeling project.

Starting very simple....

Wilmington Yard Office

I recently decided to upgrade the scenery are the north end of Wilmington Yard.  A friend made a comment about the "great white whale", the GW Bush & Sons coal dealership, so I was shamed into finishing it and giving it a first coat of paint.

Arizona Rock & Mineral Co.

Has anyone used their products.

I've been to their site, but they do not have a way to contact them i.e., email address or phone.

I need to know what size coal I need to order for a HO scale tender load and coal hopper load.

Also any suggestions on what to use to depict slate gravel.

HO Structure Lighting Thoughts

Some of you may have seen the sketches I've been working on for light sequencing in the "A Modelers Introduction to the Arduino" (https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh2016-12-dec/arduino?page=7) and I've been thinking of how to implement it. I've decided that one approach would be to include a basement on all lighted structures. The Arduino nano and its clones are small and have a micro-USB port for power.

Transition era rock slide detectors

Can anyone steer me to prototype and/or HO modeling tips on western railroad slide detectors, preferably transition era?

Advice for camouflage (hiding non-railroad things on the layout)

I need some advice on how to camouflage some neodymium magnets that I'll be using to support my conductor during ops sessions.

Heat exchanger - a drawing

Dear friends

I am working on a rather big Cold Storage inspired by the model on the encolosed image. I am now looking at building the "heat exchanger" seen on the roof (not sure if the it the correct word for the device though).

I am interested in a drawing, sketch or detailed image of such a unit.

Can you help me?

Pop's General store build (scratch)

Here is the latest build I completed. I recently built this with a group of friends who all bought the KC's Workshop Pop's General Store kit...they model HO. I model N. KC's workshop doesn't make the kit in that scale. Since I still wanted to build I scratch built the structure. Another modeler kindly provided the the height and width of the front and a side wall. I used gimp from there to lay the thing out. I then fed that into my cricut cutter and let it cut the kit.
