PM42 hooked up to Loconet - why?
Below you will see what the manual says about hooking up a PM42 to loconet, my PM42 is wired for circuit breaking and since I'm not running anything via computer, what do I gain by hooking up my PM42 into the loconet? I also have two ON Guard AR's (auto reversers set up but they bypass the PM42 as they have their own circuit breaking).

Slip ring for scratch built turntable
Everybody but me probably knows about these but in case you don't check out this find for solving the electrical connections at the pivot of a scratch built turntable. It seems so many of the build-your-own robot components are applicable to model railroad projects.

Using Electronic Keypad To Select Track For Staging Yard
There will be a total of 24 Staging Tracks, separated into 3 yards. They will be identified into 3 separate number groups, 11-18, 21-28, and 31-38. The first or the two number combination identify the Yard Number, the second number is the track number.
I would like to use an electronic keypad, such as the one here from Mouser.com .

Testing LED's
Good evening,
Just a quick question to see if anyone would happen to have the name and where to get all in one unit to test LED's. For some reason I can't seem to recall the name and where to get it.
Thanks

Laying Track
I was very interested in Nick Muff' article as many of his ideas are similar to my own. The use of push pins is an improvement on the drawing pins I've been using and I also have been hacking around with standard PECO track formations except that I've taken it a bit further and have also changed the curvature of turnouts and scissors to fit situations.
Loksound XL Track Voltage Spikes
Hi,
Hopefully this is on-topic here...
I am trying to resolve an issue I am having with one of my locos that is equipped with an ESU Loksound XL 4.0.
IR or Radio--which is better with Digitrax DCC
The model railroad club I'm considering joining uses Digitrax, and I have the Digitrax basic starter unit. When I upgrade my throttle (as I'll need to when I join the club) is radio or IR better? And what are the good/bad points of each?
PM42 Operation problem
Recently installed my PM42....
I wired the PM42 as per the instructions. I even had a second pair of eyes confirm that it is correct.
The only portion of my layout at the moment with track is a yard. I have a single bus that powers this yard, and it runs below the layout (as usual), starting at the PM42. I wired this as Section 1.
PM42
Quick question...
Just wiring up a PM42 for the layout. I decided to not get a PS14 power supply, as I have a bunch of old power plugs. From reading the instructions, I just wanted to confirm.... any DC power supply between 12-18V work?
Thanks,
Tim
