More New Photos of the E.St.Louis Rail Group Layout
To All: More new photos of the E.St.Louis Rail Group Layout. Pix #1-HN Cabin is an Interlocking Tower that controls the two main tracks, the passing siding and the tracks in the Union Starch & Refinery complex. The operator has been watching the progress on the cabin builds across the tracks. Pix #2-The freight station on the left started out as a passenger station kit I modified to be a freight house. The Walled Lake Passenger Station next to it is modeled after the prototype that I measured and then scratchbuilt. It is on a former GTW branch(the former Michigan Air Line RR)that ran from Pontiac to Jackson, Michigan. These two buildings are some of the few concessions I made to the layout, as these building were never in the E.St.Louis area. Pix #3-Godfrey Interlocking Tower is a scratchbuilt structure I modeled after a prototype location in the E.St.Louis area. Go on up and visit the operator as his job is not a very busy one. He may even let you move an interlocking lever! Pix #4-These two MofW building I scratchbuilt for my former layout the Cadillac & West Michigan RR. and decided to use them on my new pike. The two MofW guys assigned to this piece of the railroad are behind the closed door breaking RuleG! Pix #5-Lenox Interlocking Tower is based on a prototype, but I only had a pix of one side of the building. I plan on building a more accurate rendition as I obtained pix of all four sides. I will replace it and sell this copy. Yours, Elvin Howlan/E.St.Louis Rail Group Layout
