Question

herronp's picture

I had posted a discusion about lighting with pictures.  When I first posted them they were in a list of jpegs.  I now noticed they are part of the post.  How did that happen and how could I do that in the first place?  Thanks

Hi Peter-

My guess is that one of the mods fixed your original post for you.  Here's a link to show you how to insert pics into the body of a message:

I can't remember the size limitations, but if you need to resize an image before you upload, here's a free site that I use: http://webresizer.com/resizer/

Good luck!

I would like to encourage you to enter a more descriptive subject. It makes it easier for all of us to determine if we are interested and/or qualified to participate.

Sorry

Based on the choice I made, I was led to belive my question was going to whoever at MRH was overseeing the site, and would answer my question.

any luck?

Peter-

Did the link get you on the right track so you can post images?

It says on the bottom of your post

If you look at the bottom of your post below your last photo, you will find in small gray type:

Moderator edit: changed the images from attachment to inline.

Basically, you use the image button on the edit bar, you upload the image from your computer to the MRH server, then you use the URL on our server to drop the image into the page. The referenced how-to page shows the steps to do this.

The one gotcha you need to watch is to make sure the image is no wider than 720 pixels, otherwise it won't fit on the page. The image button dialog allows you to change the width to 720 to make sure it is resized properly.

Picture size

Joe, when I attach the pic file the site tells me it re-sizes the image which it does considerably from 1 meg to 250K.  However, once that's done, how can I tell if it's below 720 pixels wide?  Another gentleman shared a link that re-sizes images which would suggest it should be done before the upload.  This is new to me-pardon my ignorance.
