A Place....
Here are two diagrams of the two halves of the layout. I believe I've reached the end of track in terms of major changes within the current foot print. There are three railroads which can be represented in a reasonable fashion. Conn River line (CP/B&M), Central Vermont over Roxbury hill, and the St Johnsbury and Lamoille Valley.
The Conn River and the CV are straight forward A to I. The differentiation is created by the exit/entrance to White River Jct. The Conn River line exits WRJ behind the station. The CV exits WRJ in front of the station. Duplicate signs in different colors will label each town. Red and Blue for the Conn River and Green and Yellow for the CV. The north end of each line is Newport or St Albans depending.
The St Johnsbury and Lamoille Valley runs C to I and features much smaller trains and power assignments. Some track work may need to be done at the south end of St Johnsbury and other spots will need a slight modification or additional buildings as a source of identifying context. The * marks are short stub sidings that would identify the road as a short line. The St J and LV would run out and back Morrisville turns with the crews swapping consists in Morrisville. I can run the east bound train out of track in Newport/St Albans.
I will work on operational patterns and paper work for each railroads. I will also take photos as best possible without a moving train. The photos will reference the diagrams. The yellow fill is representing the High Fill on the Old Fort crossing of the Alleghany mountain range in North Carolina connecting Old Fort with Asheville. The terraced rock cut in the new garage loops comes from a magazine article as does the Old Fort line.
Will do pictures referenced to the diagrams. Need to recruit some operators to move some trains.
