Reefer question

What type of reefer was used in the 1950's to carry packaged poultry - brine-tank refrigerator (RA) or bunker refrigerator car (RS)?  Or something diffrent altogether?

But overall temperature regulation would be the main thing, however it was achieved. Brine and ice are two ways of achieving that goal, technical differences aside. Brine would have the edge on lower temperatures.
