What happened to the Embedded Edition? Read the answer here.

Note: We suspect most downloaded this bloated edition thinking they were getting a lot more. The reality is, since 2013, the two versions have been identical as to quality. The only difference has been the embedded video media which has been Flash-based. Flash is a dying format we can no longer afford to support.

Long story short, unless you're tech savvy enough to appreciate the subtle technical difference, the new regular format magazine is all you need and you'll not be missing a thing.

Problems accessing the issue? Follow these troubleshooting steps ...

Important Note:
All modern HTML5 compliant browsers automatically save the PDF to your device when you click the link. However, in the case of Internet Explorer (PC) or older versions of Safari (Mac), you need to do the following to get the PDF to download instead of display in the browser.

INTERNET EXPLORER USERS (PC): Please right click and select "Save target as"  to save the PDF directly to your device instead of opening it in your browser.
SAFARI USERS (Mac): Please hold down the OPTION key when clicking to force Safari to download the PDF instead of display it in the browser. However, as of Safari 11 (released Jan 2018), Mac Safari DOES support the download attribute via a direct click. Safari on iOS still does not support the direct click, however.

Embedded edition = Standard edition

The Embedded Edition = Standard Edition in all respects except for the embedded flash media. The web has declared Flash media obsolete so we have no choice but to stop supporting the embedded PDF. Since the editions are otherwise identical, then we’ve dropped the Embedded Edition before we would start getting support requests about “why doesn’t it work?”

If you don’t understand the difference, then don’t worry about it! You will notice no difference in your MRH magazine!

No Embedded edition

Will the embedded editions I've already downloaded (every single one I've saved!) continue to run without any glitches?  I really don't want to spend the time re-downloading 99 editions of the magazine, so if it won't run, my use may be toast.  hopefully you have an on-site software solution for that.

Embedded Edition

The issues may be exactly the same to Joe but they are not. I have been downloading the embedded issues for some time now. Since I only have satellite service I download the file during the free zone and don't lose any of  the expensive bandwidth. It also saves me from using extra bandwidth when I read the magazine and want to watch the videos.I am also able to read and see the embedded videos on my netbook when I don't have access to the internet at all.

I tried downloading the zip file but it doesn't work on my scheduler as I can't get the URL for the file.I could only start the download immediately.

Please find a way to keep some kind of imbedded version, even if just adding the URL to go directly to the file.

Thanks,

Lou
