I was told by some of my pals in the UK (Welsh Highland Railway) that in their part of the world, foamers are known as chuffer nutters. Somehow the Brits always seem to have more quaint names for stuff than we do here in the colonies.

I remember someone at a Doctor Who convention comparing the wild fans at some conventions as "Trainspotters" as well... like the term came to mean any sort of rabid, foaming fan...
Yeah, I can see it. (I like the Welsh... can't quite understand them, but, easier to understand than Geordie... but then there's the Geordie brown ales...)
Being originally from Wales can not say I have ever heard "chuffer-nut" but then again I've been gone for a while. In regards to being able to understand... Comeon, have you ever heard a news broadcast afer a tornado has touched down in Alabama? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPzXOT6v9WM
I'll be at the Welsh Highland Railway in about six weeks (I volunteer there once a year) and I'll have to find out if they have any other terms of endearment for the folks that suffer from this type of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
