How to read MRH in 70 seconds

We wanted to show how few-click-simple reading Model Railroading Hobbyist can be, so we put this little video together. If you've not tried the online version, you should. No more waiting for a huge download - just a few clicks and you're reading the magazine - it's that easy!

Online Reading

I download the embedded copy at home, so I will always have a collection of back issues, just like I used to with paper magazines, but with smaller physical footprint. I read the online copy at work, on my lunch hour. Works great!

Truthfully?

No.

I just read the verbiage under the video, checked the length in seconds, allowed for the the lead-in fanfare, and figured out what was up.

Nice try, though. wink

Congrats Joe - you got me to

Congrats Joe - you got me to watch the entire video

I kept seeing the post headline and thinking "Why would I WANT to read MRH in 70 seconds - I want to read every page and really study the pictures."  But now I get it - it was a how to snare.  Good job - you win this one.  Actually, learned a few things - like clicking on the little camera icons - good idea.

Thanks Joe!

I finally learned how to read it. I did not know about the camera link or the contents at the bottom. I always like to see the layout vs the photo.

Thanks,

Tom

We suspected as much

We suspect a lot of our readers are not aware of all the stuff you can click on to save time. The bottom nav bar links are one - contents and index are both great time savers.

Then there's the go to track plan and camera icons. They're all clickable.

Every article in the contents is clickable, as are all the teasers on the front cover.

If in doubt, start clicking! You may be surprised ...

We will be making more of these little videos to show you what you may be missing that will make your life a lot easier when it comes to leveraging our web site and magazine!

Makes it better to come back to

Thanks for the video. Not only will it help the first time through, but it will help when I come back. I usually tear through on the first read, and then when I have more time, I go back and digest it more completely. These features will help.

I guess I'm dense

I am using Windows XP SP3 with Adobe Reader V9.4.5, so why don't I see the buttons at the top of the page (like the camera, etc.)?
