The latest foamcore project

A few years ago I was taking my wife to a crafts shop in Marion, PA when I came upon the perfect trackside structure. It was a grain feed depot alongside a railroad spur. I made it a point to return someday and take some photos. However, I procrastinated and when I recently returned, motivated by the purchase of an ERTL 1:64 scale Grain Feed Set, the business had transferred to a pellet dealership. The plan was to marry the ERTL set with a scratchbuilt structure that was inspired by the structure in Marion.

Brass Hallmark CF 7

Recently came upon my latest engine, a nice brass "Hallmark CF 7" Santa Fe had most of these, they were F 7's redone with a GP Cab, this unit runs well after a bit of cleaning, Grinds a bit louder than my other stuff but like to see it run.

Another way to spread the word about the magazine

Hi All,

I was hoping to put a link to the magazine on eBay with my listings, but after some research I discovered that it is not allowed. However, we have Craigslist here in DC so I gave it a try yesterday. The ad as it appears under the "free" section is still up so I can only guess that it is allowed and will stay.

Not sure of the reaction, but I know that this section is a high hit zone. Definitely worth a try in other cities.

i have no idea how to do this. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

A Frozen Withlacoochee River Report

It never fails, every year, during one of our local train sale's, we will get hit by rain on occasion, in October and March you usually have much heat, in January of 2010, for the first time since 1956, we have a deep freeze, a freeze that lasted for 12 days and counting, never breaking the 60 degree mark degree mark during the day, and dropping way below freezing during the overnight hours, this of course effected our train sale greatly, usually the January sale is our biggest, now hopefully Febuary will be our better sale.

UNW Monroe Train Show February 6 & 7

Just wanted to let all of you know about a really great train show coming up.  Our club, United NorthWest Model Railroad Club is hosting our 19th annual Model Train Show and Swap Meet on Ferbruary  6 & 7, 2010 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, Monroe, Washington.  There will be 250 vendor tables and 25 layouts.  We also have clinics and how-to demonstrations.  As in the past, proceeds of the show are given to a charity.  This year (as last year), the show benefits Snohomish County 4-H.

You Find The Strangest Things

The other day I went into my train room, now mind you, my train room is detached from the house, there isn't any heat or AC in there at all, I needed to get a tool out of my tool box, we've had freezing temps for over a week now, in fact, we are coming up on ten days not breaking the 60 degree mark, so its been cold.
