Expansion!

Hopefully expansion is coming soon to the Hitop branch! Later this month I should be receiving four modules each four feet in length for a total of sixteen feet which I will use 8’ down both front corners of the layout for those of you familiar with my trackplan from the March 2016 issue of MR. These are coming from our club after a member tore out his current layout. More details and photos when the modules arrive!

Next up...

Here is my next weathering project, this one an ExactRail car. As I await several bottles of paint, one of which to patch the car with, I’ve been working on the rust detail. This car has three different types of weathering mediums on it, and currently two layers of weathering. Final photos when finished!

On the workbench

My PC GP7 5628, an early Atlas model with Kato drive, is currently on the workbench. Some minor additional weathering being applied including rust texture on the vents. Decals in front of the locomotive are for “Buckeye” yard which will be applied under the cab number. I’m just awaiting arrival of spark arrestors for the roof. Almost forgot the mud splatter added to the pilots....

Back in the saddle

Due to the huge response and requests, even several by private email, I’ve decided to open up my blog again. Thanks to all of you who honored me with compliments here, and website views, they are much appreciated! I’ll be back posting here when I can. Right now I’m concentrating on my weathering more than anything, to sell a few, and to get my own fleet up to my standards as far as weathering.
