Norfolk Southern now AGW F Units up on the block.

My brother is moving in with us and I’m thinning out some of my AGW locos as I downsize my layout and make room for some of his stuff.  I’ve had these in a display case for 24 years.  It time for someone else to enjoy them. Western Railway EBay Corporation  has the contract for disposing of of the equipment.  If you are interested check it out at.  Each loco is available in separate auctions.

New A&GW cabooses promote Operation Lifesaver

The Atlantic and Great Western recently released a batch of cabooses to promote grade crossing safety. Painted similar to CSX’s cabooses, they have a different paint scheme on each side. The cabooses are also mobile offices equipped with the latest communications allowing contact between the crews, customer service and our customers. Another innovation in A&GW’s world class customer service.

Feds shut down switching on the AGW

Who would have thought that the Federal Railroad Adminstration inspector would be working on Saturday night? They found this hazardous Chlorine tank in the Champion Paper Mill.  It halted all switching until the mobile car repair crew could fix it with a new KD 119 shelf coupler. I put up some new video of the AGW at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Atlantic-and-Great-Western-Railway/112837688748316

Abandoned railroad are easier to model.

You know if we modeled an abandoned railroad we could save a lot of money not buying locos and cars.  Look at all the time saved on wiring too.

Train Wreck Experiments with a heat gun and weathering.

I experimented with a little weathering and a heat gun last night.  This old UP car I got at the swap meet probably won't make it out of Sundstrom Scap in one piece. I heated it and poked it with a big screwdriver, dunked in water to set the shape then repeated.  You can see more of my railroad at:

The THING! What is it ? What can I do with it?

I found this along side the road while at work. Not sure what it is. Better question is what can I do with it?  Futuristis pollution control building for coal fired power plant?  Blower building for steel mill?  My models are HO scale. The Thing is plastic. Thanks,   Roger.

Add life to your locomotives.

Please calm down. It’s not torture or some HO Scale Guantanamo Bay. I’m just heating up the plastic people to re-bend the people to fit on my locos. My soldering iron provides the heat and the tweezers protect my fingers. I hold the person about an inch from the iron. It can take about 30 seconds to a minute or more depending on what you want to bend. An arm will bend a lot sooner than the waist. Patience is the key. The low heat also preserves the paint. I hold the crew on the locos with the waxy school stick glue. I can pop them off and it doesn’t affect the paint.

Atlantic and Great Western Operation Lifesaver commercial

That's going to leave a mark. The Atlantic and Great Western teams up with the Wisconsin State Police to film and Operation Lifesaver commercial. Every 90 seconds a car and train collide.
