Mike Rose Hobbies (www.mrhobby.com) has etched-brass HO scale industrial railings. Each etched fret, or sheet, includes five 2-pipe railings for a total length of about 50-inches (360 HO feet). The railings can be soldered together but since the finished model is not likely to be subject to excessive handling, joining with CA is usually sufficient. Since the railings are made of soft brass they can be easily formed and will retain any configuration without springing out of position.

Westerfield Models has an HO scale resin craftsman kit for this Huntingdon and Broad Top Mountain gondola which Al Westerfield says is virtually identical to the PRR class G22 gon. The prototypes were rebuilt to remove the drop-bottom doors around 1930 and in1943 some minor revisions were made to the cars for mine service. The gondolas ran until the road was abandoned in 1954. Westerfield has prepared kits for modelers to accurately replicate both the original and modernized versions of the cars. In addition to the gondola shown above, Westerfield has recently introduced several other kits for Pennsylvania Railroad and the closely related H&BT. Full details are available at www.westerfieldmodels.com.
