GETTING IT RIGHT

We apologize for several errors that slipped into our report last month. In our story about Union Terminal Imports (www.union-terminal-imports.com) HO scale SDP45 locomotive, we incorrectly identified it as an O scale model. Also, the scale of the passenger cars coming from San Juan Car Company (www.sanjuancarco.com) are On3, not HOn3. To clarify the details and eliminate any confusion about the Alkem valves we mentioned last month, the Gate Valve kit makes seven valves, three for the cold blast main sized to fit 1/2- inch tube (not included in Walthers kit), plus four smaller gate valves that will fit the gas burner pipes. For further details go to www.alkemscalemodels.com.

BRIEFLY NOTED AT PRESS TIME

A number of exhibitors at the 2010 National Train Show expressed disappointment at what they perceived as low attendance. At the close of the show NTS officials said attendance for the three-day event totaled 15,510, a figure that was thought to be inflated by several exhibitors. Noting that registered NMRA attendees and exhibit staff were allowed to go in and out of the exhibit hall at will, one major exhibitor was considering asking for an audit of actual sales rather than a door count.
