Size of Walthers grain elevator
I am interested in using the Walthers HO scale ADM grain elevator 933-3022 on a module where it will be to tall when the module is moved. I was considering making the head house (the smaller section with the ADM sign) detachable. Does anyone have this model and be able to measure the height of the head house? The entire model is supposed to be 13.5" tall, if I the head house is at least 3" tall that would be wonderful.
Foam for roadmaking
In researching best asphalt road technique saw several recommendations for Wandyfoam for supplies. They have three types 1) Closed cell 2)EVA Foam 3) or foam. Wanting to know which is best before I place order. Thank you

How bad does freezing damage acrylic paint?
Last month I ordered a big bottle of AK Terrains Concrete paint from England. We got hit bad by the two ice storms and were without power for 11 days. When the post office finally decided they could make it to our mail box to deliver the paint, it was still too icy for us to make it down the hill to pick it up. Consequently the package spent the night in about 6 degree temperatures. I am wondering just how much damage being that cold will do to this paint. I plan on trying it out today on a piece of scrap. Any thoughts?
Does Model Master acrylic paint need thinning for brush painting?
I've read differing opinions on whether it needs additional thinning for airbrushing but I'm going to be brush painting.
A potential scene, but hard to see details in prototype
I came across this photo and like the floating pier and boat that are in it while the tide is out.
I'm entertaining the idea of creating this type of pier on my new module

but I can only guess what this narrow floating pier looks like in detail. Creative licensing is obviously in order, but would appreciate any ideas.
Scratchbuilding
Hey Everyone, I am curious as to what all of you who scratch build you to construct you structures.
I am about to start a project to build the first yard office which used to be a depot of the Aberdeen Carolina and Western.

What went wrong?
I did this small section with Peco and Noch static grass. I used non diluted white glue and all the grass was applied to the same surface/textured terrain.
Next day when I started to vacuum up the excess grass, mostly the Peco blended areas didn't stay, but the Noch areas did.
New London Stencils
Looking at ordering the New London company cloud stencils.
Has anyone here used this product? Any feedback on the use and results?
Thanks!

Designing an Elevated Train Station
I recently acquired a dock piece from a local hobby shop for my 1/87th scale collection, and I realized that I could have some neat uses for it. I’m planning on designing some wall pieces to fit around the outsides of it to look more like a building, and I plan on using it as a second or third floor loading/unloading dock or elevated railway station for a High Line that runs in a fictional city my railway serves. Any advice or opinions?
WHITE GLUE NOT DRYING CLEAR
During this recent cold weather(NE Ohio) my train room's temp is around 60-62 degrees and the humidity around 30%. I was recently doing some scenery using WS's ground cover products and diluted white glue(4 water:1 Glue). I painted the base plywood area with earthen color latex paint and sifted on the ground cover.(some soil, fine and coarser grass).
