I have heard your experience with the shop owner is all too common and I have experienced it myself as well.
I do hope that the shop find a way to get it's inventory back into the hands of modelers as there are a lot of great pieces there. I do not know if the owner would consider it, but for example, an online store where there would not need to be face to face interactions.
