Dave Hussey provided MRH with this photo of Athearn’s (www.athearn.com) forthcoming HO scale Genesis series GP9. Dave snapped the latest preproduction sample at the Western Prototype Modelers meet at San Bernardino last month. New Athearn items scheduled for delivery in March include an SD40 from former RPP tooling decorated for Chessie-C&O, CGW, Utah Railway and Santa Fe yellow bonnet. Also a Genesis 50-foot PC&F boxcar equipped with 8-foot and 6-foot Landis doors. The car will be decorated for Southern Pacific and Cotton Belt. No specifics yet but look for Athearn to announce several versions an HO scale Genesis Southern Pacific steel caboose.
