Cleveland 2014 - Sunday, Day 3 of the NTS (Moloco

Okay, here are my photos from the last day of the NTS (I've still got more to add to some previous days, I think... possibly a couple missing layout tours).

This is going to be divided up into overhead show shots, product shots (I got the Moloco cars, reshot one of the C636's, took some additional detail shots of the SD40s, and demonstrate the existance of the next run of Atlas HO scale C32-8's), and then just some random show stuff... in at least one case, really random.

Cleveland 2014 - Thursday, Day 5 - Setup for the Train Show

This year's train show was a bit interesting, in that most years the Train Show is held in a building without any ground floor windows, and often in a separate building from the convention (Portland will be this way).

But in Cleveland the convention area faced the show hall through floor to ceiling windows - and there were even viewpoints from above into the show hall. Everyone got to see pretty much everything they wanted to.

So I'm going to show it to you - (starting with the first comment)

Cleveland 2014 - Saturday/Sunday Day 2/3 of the NTS - Part II

Starting another thread here, the original one has gotten too long.

Cleveland 2014 - Celebration Room & Jerry Krueger's display

I'm going to be posting only photos from what was formerly known as the Contest Room, as well as a setup of locomotives and cars that Jerry Krueger had in another room.

Photos coming in the comments.

Cleveland 2014 - Somerset Power Plant working rotary car dump interview

I was fortunate to be able to interview Doug Nagel, who created a series of modules replicating the Somerset Power Plant and it's rotary car dump including scratchbuilt rotary couplers.

Cleveland 2014 - Saturday, Day 2 of the National Train Show - TCS Interview

Someone asked about what was new in the area of DCC sound. We're going to have a first look of the SoundTraxx Soundcar system coming up in a future issue, and I was able to interview Norm Stenzel of TCS regarding their upcoming (now in Beta) WOW Diesel sound decoder -

Cleveland 2014 - Saturday, Day 7/National Train Show Day 2 - Some more new stuff, and a lot of layouts....

It's just after 1pm and I've taken 667 photos today.... my shutter finger is tired.

The show appears to be going well - Fast Tracks says that they are setting records in sales. Today my goal was to get as many of the modular layouts committed to electrons as I could. I think I succeeded.

So... Welcome back to Cleveland.

Cleveland 2014 - Friday, Day 1 of the National Train Show

The day has arrived! We're all set up at the National Train Show in the New Cleveland Convention Center (come see us - we're front and center at the show).

There are  lot of new products here at the show, including some which were just announced today. So, in no order other than the one in which I was able to grab them for photography, here are several of the new items. This is not an exhaustive list by any means - I still need to go by Walthers, for instance.

Cleveland 2014 - Wednesday, Day 4

Day 4 coverage is going to be delayed.... only 236 photos today, but both the TrainMasters TV and MRH "Next 5 Years" clinics were this evening and I just got back to my room. It's midnight.

I'll be taking my laptop in with me tomorrow and we'll see how good the bandwidth at the Convention Center is.

Cleveland 2014 - Tuesday, Day 3 - Contest Room Photos, an Operating Roadshow, and a surprise guest...

336 photos today - most of them from the contest room. Yesterday I'd been worried about the low number of models being submitted for judging, today they broke the Sacramento record for most models submitted. I've got a long ways to go to get them all photographed. Photos will be in the comments.

I left the convention early today to go pick up Joe Fugate and Don Hanley from the airport, and Les Halmos and his friend Jean-Francois rolled in from Quebec last night.
