Building a "Clyde Puffer" from a kit in N scale

I recently purchased the Gramodels resin kit for a "Clyde Puffer" for use on my 2mm scale layout. Although he produces predominantly military models, I have used a few of his products and found they made up and painted very nicely. His latest product is this "Clyde Puffer", in both OO and N scales.

Some comparison photos

For a bit of fun, at a recent exhibition, I tried to pose some photographs on my Freshwater, Isle of Wight, layout to try to match some real photos of the actual location taken 70 or more years ago. They show some irregularities, and focal length differences, but the main difference is the position of the buffer stop in the horse box photo. It is positioned correctly according to the Ordnance Survey map, but does not match the photographic evidence.

All weekend just pushing things around

I love to see the grand model empires and inspirational modelling that appear in MRH and on this website, and get plenty of ideas and new techniques to try. However, my modelling is on a much smaller scale, as is more common here in the UK. The scenic area of my layout is a mere 5 feet by 1 foot six, and I try to follow 2mm Finescale standards (that is 2mm/ft 1/152 scale 9.42mm gauge) although I do make use of some British N scale items (1/148) by replacing the wheels.
