Ideas for lumber piles

Do you have any suggestions for coloring plastic or resin casts of lumber piles? I have a number of cast lumber piles that I started by painting a latex white base coat and then have experimented with aged white paint and others, but can't seem to find the correct "yellow' or "tan" color that recently cut wood has. Suggestions?

Fresh Wood

Hi Ken

AK Interactive do a lovely set of colours for old and weathered wood.  They have one AK 778 for fresh wood that I usually use.

Hope that helps.

Personally I like to paint

Personally I like to paint wood starting with a aged concrete, for aged wood. Or if you are making ties, grimy black.

Let it cure (dry thoroughly) and after that add some yellow, and/or burnt umber washes. This should give you a good start. I make my washes with 50% alcohol 50% paint (acrylic)

I am giving away a Creality 20w laser on my birthday! One requirement is you will need to be a member of my @RonPare patreon.
