What happened to the Model Rail Cast URL? It looks like its been parked. I hope it did not get snatched.

Posting here since I see MRC folks here on a regular basis..

Danica Patrick hit the wall again, Go Daddy is down. None of the links at Go Daddy.com are functional.

My domains are purchased at

My domains are purchased at godaddy, but I host elsewhere and have no problems. I also have a client who hosts at godaddy and they are running.

Looking at the domain whois, looks like the domain may have expired and they just renewed today.  Just my guess since you're seeing Godaddy's placeholder page for new or expired domains.

The weird thing is that Will

The weird thing is that Will still claimed he was getting it- perhaps a UK phenom?

Just tried to e-mail both Ryan and Will

No joy - apparently their SMPT communication is having a problem . . . hope they have good health insurance as that sounds serious...

Domain expiration

I got to help a customer deal with this the other day (I work for an ISP). Basically when your domain expires, the top level Domain Name Service (DNS) servers on the internet quit telling everyone what specific DNS servers to go to to find the actual web page/e-mail server, what have you. .

But DNS servers cache this data for a period of time determined by a setting called a  "Time To Live" as set by the specific DNS servers. Sometimes this period can be fairly lengthy - 1 to 3 days is typical. So even after the domain expires, some DNS servers may remember the correct address for a domain for some time. Others, like Marty's, probably hadn't attempted to access it recently and therefore didn't have it in cache memory.

It'll probably take up to 72 hours for everything to get back to normal for them.

It expired and we never got

It expired and we never got an e-mail saying it was expiring.  But Ryan was quick to take care of it!
