In October 2017, I visited the modell-hobby-spiel fair in Leipzig, Germany, which is one of the biggest hobby fairs in this part of Europe.

As a TT scale modeler, I did not miss to visit Lok-n-Roll, one of the very few TT scale manufacturers selling US prototype models. Some years ago, they took over the Gold Coast production line from the US. I bought NYC and a NH boxcar, which are shown in the picture on my layout. Unfortunately, Lok-n-Roll will probably not be present on the 2018 fair due to increasing costs for the fair stand.

Since I also do some Russian prototype TT scale modeling, the Leipzig fair is always an opportunity to get some Russian TT scale stuff. This year, I bought a reefer and heavy crawler tractor, which inspired me to set up two photo scenes of the late Soviet era. For details on those scenes, visit the linked Flickr pages.

The work train to be seen in the 'Cleaning up' picture, I also got on the Leipzig fair, but already in 2016.

Among the layouts presented on the fair, was a Polish prototype layout by Belgium modeler Floris Dilz. We have been following each other in Flickr for some years but never in real life before.
