I wonder since when the nowadays typical concrete traffic barriers are in use? They are often seen near the tracks to hinder vehicles from blocking anything.

1970's?

Just making a guess. I first started looking at trains and cars when I was pretty little. So by the mid eighties I know they were pretty ubiquitous.

   They might have been invented in 1959 but they were not common till much later. They probably cost too much for small jobs in the old days but now there's lots of old ones around so one finds them in random spots like junk yard entrances, etc.......DaveB
