Won't they just break off?

Here's a little video showing one possible mounting technique and the resilience of our U-Posts:

As promised I said I'd take 37. Course you drove a hard bargain. Convinced me to buy 40 instead The extras will get stacked next to the run-in shed for the horses. Soon as these are in situ I can get you photos.

Starter Kit?

Are you planning to offer a starter kit with 2 T posts, scale wire and a scale energizer (Power Supply)?

Speedrite- 1000 Unigizer Fence Energizer - 1 Joule

We do not need a 1 Joule - 9800 V verstion, but something in the range of 0.1 joule - 60 V sould keep fingers off of the layout.

Thanks!

@ Matt - Thank you, I look forward to seeing your pictures.

@ Ken - Har. Har.  - but on a serious note, I was considering a post pounder. And now I'm considering the power supply!

Post Pounder

I designed and built one! Another reason why not just anyone should be allowed to own a welder!

Fooey on all that manual labor, hydraulics baby!

That's way too much work Bill.

I have one. Useless unless the ground is real soft or you weld a bunch of weight to it. Either way your arms get tired real fast. My post pounder was built to drive 4x6 and 4x4 wood posts and it does that well. The first time I had to drive a T post after the post pounder was built I got to wondering... hmmm the post pounder should do that too. I made an adapter out of wood blocks and a length of iron pipe. The post pounder will drive a t post in a single whack! Mass times acceleration is a wonderful thing.

Other Scales?

What other scales would you like to see these in?

If you want another repurpose for your U-posts, consider adding a block section ot the design file so that it produces little 4" or 6" squares and boards about 6" by 18" [I don't know the exact dimensions].

Using these two pieces with the post, a modeler could make delineator posts and mile marker posts as are commonly found along highways...for lower elevations and southern latitudes, this post would have one white reflector at about 4 feet and at northern latitudes or higher elevations, the post will have one white reflector at about 4 feet and a green reflector at 6 feet.

Another option would be a larger reflector as is common approaching bridges and culverts.  Of course, this naturally branches towards the full monty of this next iteration: road signs.  A road sign/reflector/caution kit would be a good complement to the signpost offering.

Mine arrived!

They look great. Now they need some aluminum paint.

Great job, Bill!

Still available? I’ll buy some

I’m looking to buy some if there is any remaining stock out there. I haven’t found anyone else selling this stuff.

Anyone have some unused stock?

Thanks, Alex
