I have a question, well actually two -

First: It is what is the best/preferred way to respond to a comment/question asked on blog post? How does the person asking the question know that a answer has been posted? Does the answer get posted in the original blog post in the comments section or do I create another blog post? I am not sure how to respond, I have just been answering in the comments area.

Second: Is there a way of getting the following into a post without retyping it every time?

Thanks for any and all help.

You don't have a lot of options. One good way of answering questions is to copy/paste the person's question into a quote prior to answering. Like this reply was done.

You can then continue doing this throughout a single post thus answering a lot of questions.

The only option you have is to make another post in the same thread.

They don't. Although regular readers will see new replies in any given thread so it is likely they will see your answer post.

copy/paste. It is what I did with each of your questions.

Richard,

1. When you answer a question in the comment box and submit it, it will have the word 'updated' in red next to the blog post title when you search recent posts.  When someone sends you a comment it will say 'new' in the recent post list.

2. Go to your blog and then the edit tab.  Type what you want in the signature box and save it.  Then you wont have to type your signature with every post.

Hope this helps

Sorry, misunderstood your last question.

When you edit your signature in the Edit tab make sure to clear the password field or otherwise it will think you are changing your password without retyping it in the confirm field. Another Drupal oddity.

Not entirely correct. Updated appears only when the original title post is edited or the thread is locked by moderator. Changes (edits) made to a follow-up reply do not show on the recent post list. New posts in an existing thread cause the New flag in the Replies column.

Combining Blogs

Is it possible to combine two blogs? Make changes to the sequence of photos?

There is no easy way to do this that I know of. A lot of copy/paste would be laborious but it could be done. The MRH Drupal admin staff can do it. They have in the past.

Drag-n-drop while in post edit mode.

If you want ...

... the original poster of the question to know for sure you have an answer, then you can submit an email message via his profile setup. Right click on the name field in the original posters post and that will take you to his profile. Then select the "Contact" tab - that will present you with an email message composition box.

There was to be a Drupal mechanism to alert you via email message when a new comment has been posted to a thread, but it somehow did not get properly done. This will, hopefully, be corrected when the MRH staff updates Drupal or installs/implements another type of forum software.
