The Richlawn Railroad is moving......well, not literally - just the on line presence. I've signed up with a friend (who's in the business) to have my own official website. Can you guess what's it's called? You guessed it:

                                 Richlawnrailroad.com

I'll be doing all of my new posting that I used to do on my blog to the new site (which is still under construction) so please visit it and bookmark that page. Thanks for your interest.

Your New Site

Your new site is very nice. WordPress is a wonderful thing isn't it? On your video page you can paste in the < embed> code from YouTube to have the movie right on your site rather than a link. Use the HTML editor tab on your WordPress editor to paste the code. I have you bookmarked and will be watching.

If You Don't Already

Consider installing the Akismet plugin on your site to protect it from spam posts. I am amazed how many spam posts it has caught for my site.

Embeding video

Alan,

Thank you for the suggestion of embedding video.  That is what I want to do and will attempt this to make the page more usable.

Alan,

I do believe that my supplier of the site set me up with Akismet already installed.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Richlawn Railroad is moving...but NOT from MRH

I believe that my original post was misleading.  I'm not leaving MRH posting to my blog here.  What I'm doing is moving to my own Dot.Com (richlawnrailroad.com) from my Google blog.  The reason I'm doing this is to have better control on the look and feel plus access to data.

I'll continue to post to my blog on MRH and duplicate the posts to my website.  One of my goals is to share what I've learned to help other model railroaders, and there's not better place to do that then to post of my blog here on MRH!

Thanks for clarifying Rick,

I was certainly one of those under the impression you were moving your blog from MRH. Although I am more than happy to visit your website, your contributions to this  forum help to make it what it is and would be missed.

Good luck with the new website,

Cheers

Steve
