Another rebuilt for my N-Scale Cleveland & Eastern Railroad got its finishing touches.

Base model is a KATO F7 A Unit. where I removed the engine room windows, as well as the lower lamp housing on the front. I applied some decent body works by cutting back some lower skirting. I also added a winterization hatch on the last blower.

I gave a little more attention to the front as I added a MU plug and placed a dual headlight inside the large front light housing. The two single chime horns were also replaced by a 3 chime horn.

All parts I used are 3D printed in resin, including the light insert for the dual headlight. The glazing for the front light was cut out of transparent overhead film.

I choose a dark green for the livery, along with white lettering. Some decent weathering and she is ready for duty.

cheers,

Train order

First thought this topic would be about train orders since train orders are commonly addressed to "C&E" (conductor and engineer) of a train.

Nice paint scheme, a little color but very businesslike, could easily be a prototype scheme (plus real simple to paint.)

A little white on the grab irons and some oil stains on the roof would really set it off.

Thank you gentlemen, Yes this

Thank you gentlemen,

Yes this is N-Scale

Editied the Topic for better understanding, and also inserted the key word "N Scale" to prevent confusion.

I wasn't confused

I'm impressed.

And yes, the paint job is a very '60s "13D" scheme.

Look forward to seeing more.

Well Done!

Very nice work, Mike h.!

Had some thinking it was HO even!

Kato really makes a well proportioned F unit in N scale. Yours looks great.

Gentlemen, thank you once

Gentlemen, thank you once again for your kind words and kudos they are much appreciated.

@Vince : I can not tell the color shade by some sort of name, as I use not a mainstream color system. It is a dark green. I have no comparison, maybe a tad lighter than Pullman green.

@Andre : Yes, the Katos are good runners too.

@Scott: I got your first comment, but realized that I had no reference to scale given.
My layout is time-based somewhere in the early 80ies, but with some old motive power.
More of my layout can be found on my web-blog or here at MRH.

I had some publications on MRH from some builds as well.
Currently I am finishing a new section, so there will be more to show in the future.

Not knowing the shade isn't necessarily a problem...

Remember that paint schemes will look different under different lighting.  For all we know, that model might look a muddled Norfolk Western blue if put on someone else's layout.  So not knowing exactly what shade of green it is isn't necessarily a problem.  If anyone wants to model it, a more effective method would probably be to mix the paint on your workbench under the same lighting as you use for your layout.

Not that I'm one to talk since I have never painted a locomotive in my life.
