I recently made a photo series with a train passing through several of my dioramas.

It started at 30th Street Yard, where PRR SN1200 #8539 is preparing for a transfer move to a local industry district. At the old depot, the transfer move stopped to pick up some crew members.

After the new crew members had boarded the caboose, the transfer train continued its run to serve the industrial district.

Finally, after having set out the caboose, the flatcar is delivered to a local industry customer.

Somebody may wonder that the first picture looks like a scene in NYC while the last picture has obviously a background photo from Chicago. For a transfer move of a single flatcar, that would be a rather long journey The picture of the far background in the 2nd and 3rd scene is from Detroit, however. They reason is simply that the photos were just taken on different dioramas. So, the series provides the illusion of a large layout. Just another way to have fun with dioramas.

Strong coffee needed

... and hopefully the crew managed a 'per diem' pay packet for that long move.

Nicely done montage.
