I just purchased a new Apple IPad and want to read the Magazine and also view TrainMasters TV on it. Right now I have both on my computer, which is in basement layout room. I would like to read and view these in other locations in my house, such as the Living Room. I can't seem to find what I need to load these onto the IPad.

I need VERY simple help as I am not all that techy.

So let me get this straight...

So let me get this straight, you don’t have Wi-Fi coverage throughout your house? Call your ISP and ask them to install a repeater at the other end of your house. Problem solved.

IPad

Yes I do have WiFi in my house. But I want to put for lack of a better term a icon on the IPad so all I do click on it and get directly to either of the two place I want - the Magazine or TMTV.

My question is how do I get this done?

Step 1

Step 1, go to the Apple App Store and search for TrainMasters TV. That brings up the TMTV app. Install it and then when you fire it up, enter your TMTV email and password. Done! Now you have a TMTV icon on your iPad that you can tap any time you want. MRH will be more involved because we had to discontinue the MRH app (the programmers were expensive and our sales have dropped due to the pandemic). But I can set you up with a tap-able icon that goes directly to the back issues page. More in the next post.

IPad

Thanks Joe,

I was able to get the TMTV setup OK. Just waiting now for the tap-able icon for the Magazine.

Visit the MRH page you want to save as an "app"

Here's a link to a how-to that tells you how to save any website to your iPad home screen as an "app" icon: https://www.lifewire.com/save-a-website-to-home-screen-ipad-3972860

I just have MRH forum bookmarked along the top of the ipad screen. The forum has links to the latest magazine issue and other stuff. ...DaveB

Did you get set up?

Richard-

With a new iPad, things may look a little different than the directions from that lifehack website above.
But, the steps are the same:
While at http://www.model-railroad-hobbyist.com  tap that box with arrow at the top right of the screen:

Tapping that box will open a drop down menu and at the bottom, you’ll see “Add to Home Screen”. Tap that little “+” on the right:

Then on your iPad’s home screen, you’ll find an icon that looks like this:

Is there anything like this for the Kindle Fire?

Is it possible to do something (anything) even remotely like this on the Kindle Fire?  Again, sorry, I'm not sure which version (I'll need to check that out).  I use the Model Railroad Hobbyist website fairly often and it would be nice if I had this level of access on the Kindle.
