I recently bought some modern US-prototype TT scale tank cars from Czech manufacturer MBT.

While my layout is set in an earlier era, I sometimes arrange temporary photo scenes with virtual backgrounds made from screenshots of computer games. Since most of these games play in a modern or even near-future world, my 1960s equipment does not really fit. So, I got these tank cars for the main purpose to be used in such photo settings.

I do not play these games by myself but use screenshots provided by virtual reality artists specialised in in-game photography. In the last years, I collaborated with two artists who granted me the right to use their shots.

Unfortunately, the artist Xanvast who provided the screenshots I used in these two pictures, recently announced that he will stop gaming. So, these two pictures are probably the last scenes in which I could use his shots.

Thanks for the "Late Delivery"

Hi Joern,

Thanks for the "Late Delivery" photo. It reminds me very much of some of the less-seen areas of a heavy industry like a steel mill or petrochemical plant. Both have long runs of large diameter piping external to buildings. Great job of stitching the real and virtual for an "surreal" photo.

Heavy indistries

Hi John,

I very like those heavy industries environments. Some years ago, I made a photo of a model scene for which I used a background photo I took in a steelmill. The models are Russian prototype, the steelmill is in Germany, but these industries look more or less the same everywhere.

Regards,

Joern
