I have this early 25' CP RR, 15 ton boxcar kit whose prototype was made in the 1860's. i'm looking for a picture or plan for the original. I'm told its in a rather pricey book (Southern Pacific Freight Cars, Vol. 4) but wondering if some kind soul who has it might share the one thing I need from it. Thanks. Alex

Bitter Creek?

Is it a Bitter Creek kit? I'm building one at the moment. Really nice kit. If it is, have you contacted Jeff? He might be able to provide the information you need.

Don't Know If This Helps

Found a book on JSTOR, "Over the Range: A History of the Promontory Summit Route of the Pacific Railroad" which has many photos and car diagrams, but I didn't take the time to go all the way through it to see if the 25' car was included. Being old and slow, it took me awhile to realize CP was Central Pacific, not Canadian Pacific! lol

Yep

It was Bitter Creek and it was Jeff who pointed me to the book I mentioned.
