MRH has a hobby shop listing, but it's very incomplete:
https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/hobbyshops

With your help, we can get this list to be more comprehensive!

If your favorite hobby shop is not listed, then just post their details below. We need:

Shop Name
Shop address
Shop phone
Shop URL (if they have a website)

For foreign shops, also give us the country.

Let's get the MRH Hobby shop listing to be the best one going!

One last note -- if you give us a shop that's not listed, next time you visit, tell them about us and show them their listing!

A Question for Joe?

Hi Joe,

Do you want to take this listing international? If so, is there a "targeted" list of countries that you want to start with or is it global anywhere?

Jeff's Reply: Anywhere works, it's just a list:  https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/shops_outside_USA

Chicagoland Toys and Hobbies

I've dealt with owner Greg Bosak many times over the years and have always found him to be knowledgeable and very helpful. His father, Richard bought the business in 1972, first in downtown Chicago and then he moved in 1984 to the northwest side of Chicago. Richard retired in 1993 and his son has been running it since then.

Chicagoland Toys and Hobbies

UPDATE! The website is hosed and after talking with Greg, it may not be fixed until summer! He had some major software problems and is trying to recover.

However he has an ebay store at  https://www.ebay.com/str/Chicagoland-Hobby which has many offerings available.

Open Hobby Shops...

I really think the idea was to list OPEN hobby shops.  Not sure there's much point in listing shops that have closed.

Canadian stores (prairies)

This is my LHS in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which has a decent selection of "basic" model railroading stuff like track, roadbed, Walthers structure kits, Woodland Scenics stuff, etc.:

Express Hobbies
411 34 Street East
Saskatoon SK  S7K 0S9
Canada
(306) 954-3434
https://express-hobbies.business.site/

I also do a lot of online shopping at Canadian Express Line (online only, no brick and mortar location):

Canadian Express Line
(613) 475-5753
http://www.canadianexpressline.com

Other stores I try to drop by when I'm in town:

Hobby Wholesale
6136 Gateway Blvd NW
Edmonton AB  T6H 2H8
Canada
(780) 434-3648
https://hobbywholesale.com/

Trains and Such
6043 Centre St. SW
Calgary AB T2H 0C2

Canada
(403) 277-7226
https://trainsandsuch.com/

I'm sure there's more, and I know there are a few really good places in Ontario. I'll leave those up to someone else!

Oh, hello...

This is what I get for stepping away from the forums for a few hours!

Thanks for the input - and while I can't say I welcome hearing about shops that have closed, please help me stay up-to-date with those too - I'd prefer not to send anyone to someplace that is closed.
