Candy Corn. It’s the season for this colored sugar to take over the candy dishes. People either love it or hate it.

Which side are you on?

Hate. SO much hate

I always thought candy corn was wax mixed with sugar.

Like those awful pink peanut-shaped things, I have no idea how they can still be made in this era of such better candies!

Candy Corn is way better than Peeps!

Here are some creative ways to get rid of those Peeps that people keep insisting on giving you for Easter:

Love!

I am on the love side of candy corn. In fact, I have devoured three bags of it already this Halloween season. The pumpkins though, I think they are disgusting.

Seasonal harvest

I do like the candy corn and the pumpkins, but only for one week in October. It’s is interesting to listen to people discuss this confection. It’s truly a love it or hate it line in the candy aisle.

It just seemed like a better option than last years ‘Pumpkin Spice’ taconite, as fellow iron ore modeler and friend, Andy D pointed out to me.

Pumpkin Spice Taconite

Well, Mr. Gasior, judging by the amount of pumpkin spice lattes that are available at just about every gas station and convenience store, you must have shipped out enough of that stuff last year that they all still have a big stockpile on hand!

Candy Corn Hauling

May want to consider a gondola for candy hauling. The corn won't fit through the ore car doors. I would expect the pumpkins would be transported via refrigerator car.

But Isn't Corn Carried In Covered Hoppers?

I'd eat several of your loads at one sitting!

Love 'Em!

Thomas,

If you need help unloading those hoppers, I'm more than glad to lend a hand...or should I say mouth?

And here I thought you meant iron ore when you told me I was hauling the wrong kind of loads in the hopper trains on my layout!!!!!

Candy corn is good. Peeps are nasty and those orange peanut thngs are gross.

Post Halloween

As much as you all volunteered to help unload the bounty, and share in the sugar overload. I sadly report that no candy corn survived after 10/31. Maybe next year there will be two boat loads to ship out of Agate Bay.

Candy corn +++

I am a fan of candy corn. I really like it mixed with peanuts (that's the +++ in the post title). Reminds me of a Payday candy bar. Hey! Loads of candy corn and peanuts going to a candy bar factory!
