I am seeking out an itroducteray material to inform thoses who are new to the hobby what scale versus gauge means as well as the relative size of the differnt scales compared to each other. Thanks.

Hi Bruce,  It looks like you

Hi Bruce,  It looks like you have already found the world's best source of free information - the internet.  Start with the NMRA's website and then just keep searching on Google with short phrases about the information you are after.

Best wishes,  Aran

Kalmbach

Kalmbach used to make promotional material about model railroading available to clubs ande organizations. You may wish to contact them. They may be able to send you some of their "Getting started in model railroading" mini-books.

Update on search for info

I did e-mail Kalmbach to see if they still make the booklets, thier reply was yes and 50 copies are on thier way.they showed up in my mail today. They must have got my address from when I subscribe to a few of thier magazines CTT and MRR any way thanks for the suggestions as they help. Will also e-mail NMRA to see if they have any resources as well.

Joe F., thanks for providing the next to perfect magazine / forum as MRH does quite alot to promoting the hobby as well can't wait to see the new version of MRH. I will let any club members know about the best and free on-line model train magazine.
