I hope this doesn't violate the TOS - if so please delete with my deepest apologies....

I know the LD SIG has back issues for sale but I also there are times when folks just need to clean out some space.  I'm looking for about 1995 on up. I'm looking for larger sets rather than individual issues since shipping could get out of control  - $12.00'ish  a decade vs $2.99 an issue.

E mail me if this something you are interested in.

There was talk about LD SIG making a CD of the back issues kind of like Model Railcast did at 50 and 100 shows but I never seen anything on this from the LD SIG - if anyone knows I would really be interested.

Thanks

Steve

Back issues from LDSIG

Steve, you obviously know you can buy them direct from the LDSIG, but just in case others are unaware:

A few issues also available from Railpub:
http://railpub.com/

As far as releasing them all on CD, it seems pretty unlikely, unfortunately. Some of the early issues were hand-written(!) or typewritten and over the years many different publishing packages have been used. It's very different from MRC where the shows are all of fairly recent vintage and on the same system.

A number of people over the years have talked about scanning the back issues, but if they are just scans and not searchable or indexed, I'm not sure how useful it would be.

This thread is okay ...

Ordinarily, we limit posts that involve money changing hands because that's advertising - and it's advertising that supports this venture and is the one thing that's not free.

However, you're looking for information and a source for a product as an individual rather than wanting to sell anything so we're okay with that kind of post on here.

And I'm a big fan of the LD SIG - it's helped me immeasurably in how I enjoy the hobby so I'm indebted to them. A little plug for a non-profit hobby org like the SIG is warranted now and then.

Scanned images

Scanned images combined with a database of Table of Contents (maybe through the Kalmbach Database?) would be pretty cool and be a nice in-between solution.
