Hi all!

My wife gave me this for Christmas :

A Sony DSC QX100 WIFI Camera!

I have tested it briefly, and it looks promising.

These pics are unedited and I only used the room lighting:

More!

I just read the specs on this lens, and it seems to attach to any cellphone. Looking at your photo's it appears to do a pretty good job of enhancing the phones camera capabilities. I will follow your progress with interest, and look forward to more photo's.

It doesn't enhance them.  It completely replaces them.  The Sony is a self-contained camera.  You don't even need the Sony camera attached to your phone.  You can hold the Sony in one hand and your phone in the other, using the phone as a viewfinder.  That could be very useful for getting access to parts of your layout where a regular camera is too big to fit.  Set the Sony on your layout and use the phone to compose the shot.  You can trigger the shutter from your phone.

If I understood correctly the

If I understood correctly the Sony DSC QX100 is a complete camera that uses the smartphone as screen. The system is connected to the smartphone by WIFI.  It doesn't use the smartphone camera.
I would prefer a more stable compact or SLR camera.

Steve, I apologize for my haste in looking at the Sony website. It does have impressive specs at 20 MP. I now understand the usefullness in its abilities. I still look forward to your impressions of it as you get to use it and know more about it.

Steve, looks like it has pretty good depth of field. Just curious, does it have the ability to set the white balance ?

Graffen is the one with the camera, not me.  But here's the page for the camera at the B&H site (click on the specs tab).

It has the following white balance modes...
