Maybe I didn't look hard enough but didn't see this mentioned anywhere.  English's Model Railroad Supply was robbed Monday night. I believe all items taken were O Scale.  If at any train shows on the east coast be aware.

Hopefully, they have enough

Hopefully, they have enough in the way of photographic evidence to identify the thieves. It would also be interesting if the could circulate photos so if they show up at train shows the individuals might be apprehended. The internet however would be tough to catch them unless they have something that would be easy to identify.

I heard thru another source

that the thieves wore masks in the surveillance video.  Keep checking Craigs list for any of the gear, and have a list you can have people check at shows.  I hope you recover from this invasion.

I found my previous time of doing business with you satisfactory and pleasant, if adventurous.   I'm sure they wouldn't mind dealing with me again either!

I placed an order, and my order arrived just fine.  And so did another package from them.  In the second package was a DCC engine I had not ordered, and the receipt in the box indicated that they sent it to my address, but someone else had ordered it.  I contacted them, and explained what had happened (along with the 2 or 3 day delay, due to me being away on vacation when the packages arrived).  We made arrangements to return the engine, and they gave me a credit for the return postage.  You can tell a lot about a company by how they handle their mistakes, more then even how they handle the easy stuff....

James you should be commended

James you should be commended for your honesty. It took a bit of effort on your part to do the right thing and you did. How many folks would have said well it is their fault not mine I am going to keep it? They will have no way of knowing what happened to it.

It is another bonus that you are working with young people and being a positive role model for them.

There was no issue about it

A scout is honest.  My only questions to them was if they wanted me to send it directly to the person who had paid for the engine, or back to them.  I did not have the correct address of the customer it actually belong to.

I feel sorry for them right  now, as they appeared to me to be nice people.

The English family

Lew English was an asset to that community before his passing. The staff of English's/Bowswer/Toy Train Heaven are great to work with. Lucky for me living only 3 hours from Montoursville I have the opportunity to shop at English's when ever I can.

BOWSER

The GSMTS talked to Bowser and let them know that they could send someone to the train show next month to see if any of the item stolen might be there.

Another robbery with similar MO

A gift shop in the Poconos was robbed for nearly half a million in jewelry over the weekend.  How'd they get in?  Cut a hole through the metal siding.  Robbery was about 2 hours from English's. If you own a business, may I highly recommend an internal alarm system!

After you view the video and scroll through the texts you will see a comment about another hobby shop being burglarized too.  In Buford, PA?
