This is more than a bit frustrating when a lot of research has gone into assembling a post...

I've found that when it happens you can just log in then hit the back arrow and your post is still there waiting to be submitted .......DaveB

I tried that but for me at least it didn't work

Don't know if I messed up or if it has anything to do with what browser you use.  I also have no idea how long I'd been logged off, was busy bouncing around on a few websites copying and pasting links.  Oh, well, try it again...

I don't think I had gone to any other sites when it happened to me so it was a direct back step using chrome browser.  As long as it persists I'll try to remember to copy any long posts before hitting submit so I can paste them back if there's a problem.....DaveB

Partly my own problem, I got lazy...

I've been known to open an MS Word page and copy and paste as I go.  That way I have something that won't completely disappear if something goes awry.  Still have to mess a bit with MRH features that don't resonate with Word.

Compose and then Post

If I have a long involved post. I will assemble the text and illistrations off the net then copy and paste the text, then load the pictures. If problems arise or I make a mistake, I do not lose much time and effort. Regards, John Life is like a box of chocolates.<> Forest Gump

Use a Word Processor

On long replies I use a word processor.  Then, just copy and paste, preview and submit.  No timeouts.

People who write these comment things have no clue how they are used and you will get a bunch of nonsensical excuses why their work can't be changed.  So, save your energy and use a word processor.

So far when it has happened

So far when it has happened to me it was because I was to quick to click and went somewhere else. So it then means I need to see if I can recreate my post, if I can't it was probably for the best. Even so it is always frustrating when it happens.
