I don't see a photo thread for this week and well over here it's firmly into the weekend.

I worked off of a couple of proto photos, but neither was the era/look I was going for. When I'm home in a few months I'll add the COTS, ACI and Wheel Inspection decals. Tonight while researching my next car I found this photograph: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2379516

Nice modeling, Driline! Your avatar reminds me I need to wash and detail my motorcycle this weekend!

Clearly your work was done well. Excellent weathering. Very convincing.

@Alan

Thanks for the complement Alan, I think i may have gone a tad to far on it, more of a BNSF look than a BN look. but I'm happy with how it turned out.  I have just noticed that I have a broken air line on it now ;(

City Scene

The city scene is great, but the mirror needs some work--it's obviously a mirror.  Perhaps having that red car close to the mirror a bit further away, so it's not so obvious?  like the bad guys getting stuffed into the cop car.  Have you thought of doing the same sort of scene in a railroad yard--with spray cans on the ground, and a half-defaced railroad car next to it.  Graffiti vandals in a police car would look GOOD!

Spring is nearly over

In the desert, Spring is nearly over. As things warm up, the reptiles get active, including this Diamondback rattlesnake. Looks like this fellow is going to need to rethink his visit to the outhouse and 'improvise'!

More Weathering

I added some airbrushed grime to this GN car that had been hanging around with acrylic wash fading and rust but still unfinished.

Nice foliage

Rob, that scene looks natural...we see so much blue sky in model scenes, I like the cloudy effect of your backdrop. what really caught my eye, besides the classic water tank and engine house in the background, the the realism of your foliage...the foliage on the mountainside is especially convincing!

@Bill Michaels

Great looking scene Bill. I especially like the stairs and different levels that are really eye catching. It looks a lot like some guy's work I saw at a local Train show. Maybe you could give him some pointers? Here's a picture...

Great looking boxcar Gary. I don't want but NEED that on my Soo layout. Did you use mostly oils or acryllics?
