Please post on MRH

Joe has lots of room on server for pictures. If you run out you can ask for more.  You can link later to you web site if you like.  Will tell you from 4 years experience that most will not jump to your web site.  You will have a lot more reads if you put the whole subject matter on MRH blog.

Art's right

Art's right - depends on your goals. If you want more people to benefit from the information (larger audience) then posting your blog on here will get you that - probably by at least a factor of 10.

If esthetics matter more than readership, then you do get more creative control over the look of your blog elsewhere, but you generally won't get the audience you get here.

This all said, the next version of this website will have more blogging features (exact date not set yet).

Meet in the Middle

Post a brief summary of your blog post here including a couple key pictures. Then place a link to the blog post at the end. People who want more detail can follow the link. Folks with only a casual interest will get what they need from the summary on MRH.

I tend to go picture crazy with my blog. Even the nothing special, boring posts are filled with pictures. It is a WordPress blog with a nice picture gallery/slideshow function. Allows me to put many pictures in a compact thumbnail arrangement which can be viewed full size and advanced with a click. If I were to post the same number of pictures here on MRH the post would get very lengthy. Would wear out the scroll button on your mouse!

As a person that has both a website for my railroad and a blog on MRH I generally share first on MRH and then just copy to my website later. It's a little more work to maintain both but I think that it is worth the extra effort.
